OUR YOGA PRACTICES

“Use your body any way you can,
don’t be afraid of it,
It’s the greatest gift you’ll ever own…”

-Baz Lurhman

HATHA YOGA

Hatha can be a great foundation, to start your physical yoga journey, on top of which other styles of movement can develop.

ASHTANGA

Ashtanga is often called a “moving meditation” because it uses a specific, invigorating sequence of movements linked precisely to your breath.

VINYASA YOGA

Expect an evolving sequence that energizes your body and calms your mind, all set to an immersive playlist.

DEEP YIN

A practise that everyone should do at least once a week, it is the soft, yielding opposite to our more Yang practises of Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha.

What People Say

“Great classes! The studio is great; spacious, lit and quiet; but conveniently located to fit in with a chilled morning in town. Tess is lovely: clear instructions. Challenging but permissive to do it in your own pace. There is always nice quite music. I always leave feeling refreshed and with a smile.”

-Deena

“Yoga isn’t just for girls — Norwich Yoga Central proves it. The classes are seriously good: strength, balance, flexibility, and even callisthenics and bodyweight training. It’s a proper workout with real benefits — physically and mentally. Yoga’s also a brilliant way for men to look after their mental health, build resilience, and find a bit of calm in the chaos. Great variety, great people, and a cool, welcoming vibe. It’ll become your superpower — what have you got to lose?”

-Stephen

“I’ve been practicing with Tess as my yoga teacher for over 10 years, and wherever she goes, I follow. She is an exceptional teacher—massively experienced, calm, focused, and incredibly knowledgeable. I love her classes and always miss them when I can’t attend. I would highly recommend NYC to both experienced yogis and first-timers alike.”

-Kate

“I love visiting Norwich Yoga Central and would recommend the classes to anyone!
From working shift patterns, I’ve been lucky enough to experience a few of the different classes with the different teachers, and I’ve loved every single session! Tess & her team are fab and create such a warm, welcoming environment regardless of whether it’s your first session or your 10th. I can’t wait to come back to classes again.”

-Emily

“Having never done yoga before I thought I would sign up for one of the beginners classes to see what it’s all about. Well what can I say? I really enjoyed it, Tess is an amazing teacher and the studios are wonderfully decorated and create a very tranquil atmosphere. Will definitely continue and highly recommend 🧘🏻‍♀️”

However do drop us an email and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

Please arrive early, there are NO late entries, the doors open 15 minutes before a class and will close promptly on class start time. Please have hushed voices once in the Studio (Shala)

Comfy clothes you can move around in/ aren’t too restrictive. Perhaps layers in the winter months so you have the option to layer up again for the end of class.
